Reflecting on Our Visit to the SZSE Technology and IP Exchange - Exploring New Synergies for Innovation and Intellectual Property

On October 16, 2025, I had the privilege of visiting the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Technology and IP Exchange as Director of ASTRI, alongside my colleagues Dr. Ying Huang, CTO; Dr. Lawrence Kwong, Deputy Director, IP and Knowledge Management; and Mr. He Zhiguo, Mainland Business Manager. We were warmly welcomed by Mr. Yu Bin, Director of Market Development; Ms. Xiao Xiao, Head of Market Expansion; and Ms. Zhang Qiyuan, Market Development Supervisor.

During our visit, Mr. Yu and Ms. Xiao graciously introduced us to the background and mission of the SZSE Technology and IP Exchange. The Exchange, as part of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, serves as a pivotal platform to facilitate the commercialization and financing of technological innovations. It plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between laboratory research and market realization, offering comprehensive support that spans from the initial stages of intellectual property (IP) creation to navigating the complex journey towards Initial Public Offering (IPO) and ongoing business growth.

The SZSE Technology and IP Exchange is dedicated to empowering innovators, startups, and research institutions by providing resources and mechanisms for IP transactions, project incubation, and technology transfer. By connecting technology owners with investors and industry partners, the Exchange accelerates the transformation of scientific achievements into market-ready solutions. Their integrated services cover IP assessment, financial matchmaking, legal support, and strategic guidance, making it an invaluable asset for organizations seeking to scale their innovations and maximize IP value.

Mr. Yu shared insightful perspectives on the potential synergies between ASTRI and the SZSE Technology and IP Exchange. He emphasized how our strong portfolio of patents and, more importantly, the hundreds of talented researchers at ASTRI, present significant opportunities for collaboration. By leveraging our respective strengths, we can jointly drive technology commercialization, foster innovation, and contribute to the broader ecosystem of intellectual property and entrepreneurship.

This visit has further inspired us to explore new avenues for partnership and knowledge exchange. We look forward to building a closer relationship with the SZSE Technology and IP Exchange and working together to advance the frontiers of technology, from lab to IP, IPO, and beyond.
