Cartier, VCA and Piaget – HK Court of Appeal affirms the lower court’s decision

I am so pleased to have received the Court of Appeal’s validation of the lower court’s finding of contempt against a defendant and affirmed the custodial sentences imposed on its directors for breach of a recipient disclosure order.

The key “take-home” - Court orders are made to be obeyed and unscrupulous counterfeiters will be pursued. They are the building blocks by which administration of justice is made workable. Committal proceedings upholds the dignity of the Court by punishing contemnors and deterring others. Litigants who willfully breach Court orders risk losing their liberty.
